HIGH SCHOOL GYMNASTICS: Hodags sweep Medford, 121.125-106.95

RHS 3-0 in GNC Small Division

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

The Rhinelander High School gymnastics team went 1-2 in every event and added three third-place finishes Thursday when the Hodags won their Great Northern Conference Small Division home dual meet over Medford, 121.125-106.95.

RHS senior Stephanie Kuester, who won all-around competition (32.825), also placed first in all four individual events with the top score in the floor exercise (8.4), balance beam (8.025), vaulting (8.525) and uneven bars (7.875).

Hodags junior Raven Sturtevant, who finished runner-up in the all-around competition (30.95), also placed second in the floor exercise (8.075), vaulting (8.1) and uneven bars (7.3) and came in third on the balance beam (7.475).

RHS’s other top-three finishes came from senior Alyssa Mitchell placing runner-up on the balance beam (7.5), junior Harlie Zimmermann finishing third on the uneven bars (6.15) and freshman Bridget Koser coming in third in the floor exercise (7.625).

Up next for the Hodags, who are 3-0 in GNC Small Division dual meets, is a road dual meet Tuesday against Chequamegon before Saturday’s conference meet at Wisconsin Rapids.
