BOYS BASKETBALL: Hodags trounce Tomahawk, 80-28

Owen White tops 1,000 career points

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

The Rhinelander High School varsity boys basketball team remained undefeated in the Great Northern Conference with an 80-28 home victory Friday over Tomahawk.

The game also featured a scoring milestone for RHS senior Owen White, whose team-high 22 points put him over the 1,000-point scoring mark for his high school career.

Three other Hodags also scored in double figures with Junior Howard tallying 21 points, Brad Comer picking up 12 points and Bryce Schickert scoring 10 more.

RHS shot 27-58 (46.6 percent) from the field overall, 12-21 (57.1 percent) from 3-point range and 14-18 (77.8 percent) from the free-throw line.

The Hodags improved their season record to 3-0 in the GNC and 9-1 overall going into this coming Friday’s home conference game against Antigo.
