Christie Kondzela promoted to RPD sergeant
Racine officer also hired in Rhinelander
STAR JOURNAL REPORT
Rhinelander’s Police and Fire Commission decided Monday to promote Christie Kondzela from officer to sergeant to fill a vacant sergeant position in the police department, said commission chairman Todd McEldowney.
McEldowney said Kondzela, who joined the Rhinelander Police Department in 2014, will be a sergeant on the night shift.
To fill the police officer vacancy created by Kondzela’s promotion, McEldowney said the Police and Fire Commission has also hired Nick Seeger, an officer from Racine with 10 years of law enforcement experience.
McEldowney said a detective sergeant position remains vacant in the Rhinelander Police Department following the retirement of Brian Zohimsky. The Rhinelander City Council voted Monday to authorize filling the detective sergeant position and also hiring another patrol officer to replace the officer that would be promoted to detective sergeant.
