STAR JOURNAL REPORT
The Rhinelander Rebels Legion baseball team closed out its season Wednesday at Stafford Field by making up a pair of Great Northern Legion Conference games against Medford and repeating as the conference champion with a doubleheader sweep.
In game one, Jacob DeMeyer threw a no-hit shutout when the Rebels defeated Medford in five innings, 12-0.
Only six Medford batters reached base with DeMeyer giving up three walks and hitting a batter along with two making it to first on errors.
Medford starting pitcher Austin Davies went one-plus innings in recording the loss, being charged for six earned runs on three hits with four walks. Zach Haynes worked the final three innings in relief, allowing four earned runs out of the six scored on six hits with a walk and a hit batter.
Four Rebel players tallied two hits apiece. Easton Senoraske, Brad Quade and Tyler Blomdahl each doubled and singled. Kurt Zuiker added two singles. DeMeyer recorded the team’s other hit with a double.

In game two, the Rebels recorded another five-inning win by shutting out Medford, 19-0.
Matt Rudolph scattered seven hits and struck out five to record the complete-game pitching victory for the Rebels.
Medford starting pitcher Trenton Woebbeking worked the first three innings and recorded the loss, giving up three earned runs out of the nine scored on seven hits with four walks while striking out three.
