July 4 parades return to Brown Street

The Rhinelander Lions Club is hosting its annual July 4 kiddie parade, which precedes the main parade. This year’s theme for both parades is “America, Where the Stars & Stripes and Eagles Fly,” but children may use other creative themes as well.

Children ages 12 and under are encouraged to participate. Lineup begins at 9:30 a.m. near Zion School on Frederick Street and begins at 10 a.m., proceeding down Brown Street There are five categories in which children may participate, bikes, trikes and scooters, customs, floats, and pets.

Parents and friends should plan on assisting with decoration and accompanying the children during the kiddie parade. Prizes will be awarded to top three winners in each category. Contact Lion Tim Gengler for more information, 715-490-2470.

The main parade begins at 11 a.m. For more information on the day’s events, visit ExploreRhinelander.com.
