‘Jaws of Life’ used in two-vehicle accident in Rhinelander

Rhinelander firefighters and police responded Monday morning to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Rives Street and Oneida Avenue, where one of the drivers was extricated with the “Jaws of Life.”
Rhinelander police captain Ron Lueneburg said the accident involved two local drivers with a vehicle operated by Michael Koltz traveling east on Rives, where he collided with a vehicle traveling south on Oneida driven by William Kowieski.
Lueneburg said Kowieski didn’t yield the right of way to Koltz, who sustained a head injury and was taken by ambulance to Ministry St. Mary’s Hospital. Koltz was able to stand after being extricated from the vehicle.
