New officer sworn in at Rhinelander City Hall
STAR JOURNAL REPORT
The Rhinelander Police Department is back up to full strength of 17 officers. The newest member of the force is Mark Raddatz, who was sworn in Friday by City Clerk Val Foley. Raddatz grew up in New Richmond, is a graduate of Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay and was most recently employed by the Forest County Sheriff’s Office. Raddatz said he and his family are excited about the move to Rhinelander.
“This is a progressive department that’s very involved in the community,” he said. “There are better opportunities for my family, too.”
Chief Michael Steffes said Raddatz showed a lot of commitment and passion during the interview process and brings with him eight years of experience. Having a full staff, according to Steffes, will allow the department to get out in the community more
