Nearly 100 years of salon experience inside the Cutting Cabin

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

From the brick exterior, the Cutting Cabin’s appearance is a bit deceiving. Located at 128 N. Stevens Street next to the Rhinelander District Library, the Cutting Cabin is actually four salons in one, offering four stylists working independently.

Clockwise, from top left are Cutting Cabin owner, Kelly Hoppe, Debi Lee Myer, Ivy Windorff and Alyssa Colborn. The salon is open daily except Sunday.“This gives each stylist the opportunity to be her own boss and run her own business,” said salon owner Kelly Hoppe. “They can set their own hours and prices and sell the products that they prefer.”

Each stylist has her own room for privacy and a décor to match her personality.

Joining Hoppe (upper left corner in photo) at the Cutting cabin are Debi Lee Myer (upper right), Ivy Windorff (lower right), whose business is Running With Scissors and Alyssa Colborn (lower left corner) with Hair by Alyssa. Together, the women have nearly a century of hair styling experience.

Some of the hair product brand names available include Biolage, Bed Head, Paul Mitchell, Kenra, Wella and Sebestian. The Cutting Cabin also offers boutique items such McCall’s Candles, handmade jewelry, stamped cards and nature photo cards by a local photographer.

Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred, by calling 715-369-2277. Hoppe said the hours are Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. until however long it takes to get the job done.
