A three-car collision in Oneida County leaves one person seriously injured
HIGHWAY 47 CLOSED FOR SEVERAL HOURS

A three-vehicle crash on Hwy 47 near Lake Tomahawk shortly after 4 p.m. today resulted in one driver being transported via Medevac Air to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield with serious injuries, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
A preliminary investigation indicates a Ford Focus driven by a female was northbound on Hwy 47 when the vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a Ford F150 head-on. The Focus then struck the trailer of a vehicle that was following the F150. The male driver and female passenger in the F150 were released to a private party at the scene. The male driver and male passenger in the third vehicle were uninjured and released from the scene. It was the female driver of the Focus who was transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital, then air lifted to Marshfield.
The highway was closed for several hours.
Oneida County Sheriff’s Office along with Oneida County Emergency Medical Services, Oneida County Highway Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Lake Tomahawk Fire Department, and Newbold Fire Department responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
