Ashlee Martinson appeared via video for a status conference today.

Ashlee Martinson, the 17-year-old accused of killing her mother and stepfather, Jennifer and Thomas Ayers, last March, had a court appearance today.

Martinson appeared from the Oneida County Jail via video teleconference, with attorney Amy Ferguson, to request a 75-day extension for the defense to conduct their own psychological evaluation.

The defendant had previously pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.

The court-appointed psychologist’s report was completed and filed earlier this month, but has been sealed by Judge Michael Bloom until further notice.
