Obituary: Debra Charlene Zarm
Debra Charlene Zarm, age 58 of Rhinelander, died Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at her home with her family by her side. She was born on November 4, 1957, in Green Bay to Lymon and Lorraine “Dolly” (Baneck) Bauknecht. Deb will be fondly remembered as a beautiful, strong, and loving woman with a heart full of care and compassion for everyone. During her battle with cancer she again demonstrated these qualities as she bravely fought her disease. She never once asked “Why Me” during her fight. Deb was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church and loved the good friends she had there. She cherished her family who loved her in return more than she will ever know. She also cherished her friendships, especially with Justina Blazier who she considered a member of her own family. Among her interests, she loved to garden with flowers and to crochet, especially crafting scarves and baby blankets which were known to many as “Deb’s famous baby blankets.” She was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers and considered the team “her boys.” She also enjoyed music, reading, and playing games on her Kindle. Deb had a sweet and cuddly puppy she referred to as her “baby boy” and Shep rarely left her side. The family would wish to thank the nurses and staff of the James Beck Cancer Center and Ministry Home Care Hospice. She loved the people who cared for her and when she visited the Cancer Center, knowing she was surrounded by friends as soon as she walked through the doors was a great comfort to her. Deb is survived by her husband, Richard Zarm of Rhinelander; two daughters, Jennifer Zarm of Green Bay and Emily (Alexander) Schramke of Elcho; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lymon and Dolly and by her step-father, John Fox. The funeral service for Deb will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church with Revs. Kari and Timothy Vadis officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Monday. Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery. Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is assisting Deb’s family and condolences may be directed at www.carlsonfh.com.
