Those interested in learning to start plants from seeds are invited to enroll in Northwoods Seed Starting 101, a Community Education class to be held Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The class, led by Michele Sadauskas, will be held in the Superior Diesel Advanced Learning Center in Rhinelander High School. Participants will learn what type of soil to use, how to transplant, where to get seeds, how to start perennial and annual seeds, and more. They will also take home a pepper plant they will have transplanted in class.

The class is open to anyone ages 10 years to adult.

Pre-registration is required for all Community Education classes. The fee is $8 per person, and the course number is 2015-06. The registration deadline for Northwoods Seed Starting 101 is Wednesday, Jan. 28. To register, visit the School District of Rhinelander website at rhinelander.k12.wi.us/community/, print off, complete and mail in the registration form with payment to the address listed on the form; or contact Community Education Coordinator Mike Cheslock at 715-365-9745 for more information.
