Drowning in Lake Shishebogama
The Minocqua Police Department has reported a drowning in Lake Shishebogama.
On Saturday, July 26, at approximately 10:58 p.m., the Minocqua Police Department received a 911 call which reported that a person in Lake Shishebogama appeared to be struggling. Prior to emergency personnel arriving on the scene, family members had pulled the male subject out of the water. Upon arriving at the scene, responding units initiated CPR. The man was transported by ambulance to the Howard Young Medical Center emergency room.
The man has been identified as 56-year-old Russell E. Steiner of West Bend. On Sunday, July 27, at approximately 7:30 a.m., the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office called the Minocqua Police Department and advised that Mr. Steiner had died.
The matter is under investigation by the Minocqua Police Department, the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Oneida County Medical Examiner’s Office pending the results of an autopsy.
Minocqua Fire and Rescue, the Oneida County Dive Team and HYMC ambulance paramedics assisted the Minocqua Police Department in the investigation.
