Traci England, Oneida and Forest county’s former medical examiner, is heading to jail for one year after she was found guilty of stealing body parts from cadavers during autopsies.

This past Tuesday she was charged with two counts of misconduct in office. A theft of movable property charge as well as a resisting or obstructing an officer charge were dismissed.

She was sentenced to jail for one year in addition to having to perform 300 hours of community service, pay more than $5,500 in restitution, and she will be on probation for three years.

England claimed she was stealing the body parts to train her dog as a cadaver sniffing canine.
