Downtown Rhinelander, Inc. will host the “Haunted” Hodag Howl at 6:30 p.m. at the Quality Inn. We asked Karla Frye from Downtown Rhinelander, Inc. questions about the event. Here is what she had to say:

Star Journal: What is the Hodag Howl?

Karla Frye: The “Haunted” Hodag Howl is an adult Halloween costume party ending with the auction of the mini Hodags.

SJ: How many mini Hodags will be auctioned?
KF: Five Hodags will be auctioned. This is the first year with mini Hodags. They are about half the size of the original Hodags on Parade. The smaller size makes them more affordable, able to be displayed indoors, and allows for more artists to participate in the program.

SJ: What else can people expect at the event?
KF: The “Haunted” Hodag Howl includes raffles, games, appetizers, cash bar, music and dancing. Participants who come dressed in costume will receive five free raffle tickets.

SJ: How many years have you held the event?
KF: This is the sixth Hodag auction, the second auction/party, and the first Halloween theme party/auction.

SJ: Can we get a look at the Hodags that will be auctioned off?
KF: The mini Hodags will be revealed for the first time at the Howl. So, we do not want to ruin the “unveiling” by providing a picture of a Hodag.
