VA Schedules Free Flu Shot Clinics for Veterans
The VA Clinic in Rhinelander has scheduled free walk-in flu shot clinics to Veterans enrolled in the VA’s health care system.
The Rhinelander VA Clinic will offer the flu vaccinations Wednesday through Friday, Sept. 18 to 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The clinic is located at 639 West Kemp Street.
No appointment is necessary. Veterans may also request the flu shot at their regularly scheduled doctor’s appointments.
“We encourage everyone six months old and older to get the flu vaccination,” Deb Ruohomaki, Primary Care Nurse Manager at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Mich., said. “Especially people who have a chronic health condition like asthma; diabetes; heart, lung or kidney disease; or reduced resistance to infection as well as caregivers.”
A complete listing of locations, dates and times at VA clinic locations in the Upper Peninsula and Northeastern Wisconsin may be found at www.ironmountain.va.gov. Veterans may also call 800-215-8262 (press “1” and then press “2”) to confirm vaccine availability and walk-in clinic dates.
