Auditions for Nicolet Players Becky?s New Car
The Nicolet Players will hold open auditions for the new fast-paced comedy by Steven Dietz Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 16 and 17, at 7 p.m. in the Nicolet College Theatre.
Forty-ish Becky Foster has a decent job at an auto dealership, a solid husband named Joe, and a freeloading psych-major son living in her basement. Her life is … okay, if not sublime. But when she crosses paths with millionaire widower Walter Flood, she’s offered the chance to test drive a very different kind of existence – if she can just keep him in the dark about the one she already has.
There are roles for three women and four men, ages 20 to 70. Characters include Becky (a charming middle-aged woman), Joe (her laid back husband), Chris (her intellectual and aimless son), Walter (the eccentric and clueless millionaire), Kenni (Walter’s pampered and rebellious daughter), Steve (Becky’s neurotic co-worker) and Ginger (Walter’s debutant neighbor).
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Scripts for Becky’s New Car are now available for a three-day checkout from the Nicolet Library. More details about the auditions can be found on the Nicolet Live! Facebook page.
