The Rhinelander Rotary Club is helping bring more fun to Hodag Park by donating proceeds from its first annual citywide scavenger hunt to the Kiwanis splash pad project. The scavenger hunt, held in late August, was created to support the community project, which will provide a free and accessible water play area for families to enjoy for years to come.
While the inaugural scavenger hunt saw a modest turnout, attendees enjoyed the experience and the Rotary hopes that word-of-mouth will grow participation for the second annual scavenger hunt, planned for July 2026.
“Rotary’s mission has always been to serve the community, and supporting the splash pad is a wonderful way to do that,” said David Holperin, Rhinelander Rotary President. “We’re proud that Rotary can help make a difference in creating a space where local families can gather, play, and make memories.”
The Kiwanis Club expressed its gratitude for the support. “Partnerships like this are what make projects like the Hodag Park Splash Pad possible,” said Stephanie Dahlquist, Rhinelander Kiwanis board member. “We’re thankful to the Rotary Club for their generosity and for believing in the importance of family-friendly spaces in our community.”
The Rotary and Kiwanis service clubs occasionally team up to support local projects and special events, and the splash pad is a perfect example of how collaboration can create lasting community impact.
