Northern Lights Indivisible rally nets over 350 pounds of food for RAFP

Northern Lights Indivisible (NLI), described as a non-partisan, grassroots movement dedicated to defending the U.S. Constitution and shining a light on injustice, held a rally on Nov. 1 focused on community needs in response to the recent decision to withhold SNAP benefits for the 42 million Americans who need them.
NLI’s community action event raised 353 pounds of non-perishable food and $2,000 in monetary donations for the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry, according to a post-event press release.
The donation comes at a critical time for the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry, which works to ensure food security for local families and children through its various programs, the release said.
“Our rallies are built on a simple premise: a better community is one where fundamental rights and needs are met for everyone,” said a spokesperson for NLI. “The ‘Plates Go Empty Today’ theme was a powerful reminder of how poverty impacts our neighbors, and the community responded with incredible generosity. This wasn’t just a political protest; it was an act of mutual aid and community strength.”
Northern Lights Indivisible is known locally for its protests at Pioneer Park over the summer. The group aims to protect fundamental freedoms and strengthen the community through education, mutual aid, and direct action.
“This successful food drive and fundraiser demonstrate the group’s commitment to tangible, positive change right here in Rhinelander,” the release notes. “The funds and food collected will directly help the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry in its mission to support over 1,850 people each month.”
Northern Lights Indivisible hosts their North Star Action rallies every other Saturday. They invite all members of the community who believe in local action and constitutional defense to join their efforts.
