Hodag girls win at Northland Pines

Boys set new records

The Rhinelander High School boys and girls track teams had a good day in Eagle River Thursday. The Hodag girls won the meet at Northland Pines and the boys set a few new records on their way to a second-place finish in the relay-focused track meet. The top 3 times, heights and distances were added together to determine the winners in the events.
The girls won the meet with 114 points to best Northland Pines by 13 while the boys placed second to Northland Pines by a margin of 10 points, 117 to 110. Eight teams participated in the meet.
The Hodag girls won the 4x1600 and 4x400 with Luna Grage, Kara Monk, Brynn Teter and Macy Myers running the events. The 4x100 was won by Lexi Bishop, Emeline Hintz, Olivia Ruetz and Violet Biolo. The foursome set a new meet record in the process.
Myers and Teeters, along with Emeline Hintz, won the pole vault relay with Meyers winning the event. The 4x100 throwers relay was won by Samantha Aschenbrenner, Tatiana Vadis, Josie Stella and Taylor Dahlquist.
The 300 meter hurdles was won by Averie West.
Avrom Barr, Dean Gillingham, Jackson Weinzatl, and Greyson Gremban set a new record in the 4x1600. Barr, Weinzatl, Gremban and Shawn Denis also set a new mark in the 4x800. The Hodags had the top-three finishers in shotput. David Houg took first with a new meet record, Logan Schwinger took second and Reid Schultz third. Truman Lamers set a new meet record in the triple jump. Finally, the 4x100 throwers relay was won by Houg, Schwinger, Schultz and Dominic Lehmann.
