Help save lives at Hodag STAT blood drive July 24

Posted

The Community Blood Center (CBC) is encouraging all eligible community members to join a lifesaving summer tradition and give blood this Thursday, July 24 at the Hodag Dome.
CBC’s Summer Tour for All Types (STAT) blood drive is scheduled to take place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the  Dome. CBC will make a monetary donation to Veterans Groups of Rhinelander for every unit collected during Hodag STAT, according to a press release announcing the event.
"Formerly known as MASH, STAT blood drive events have the same lifesaving goal with a new name," the release states. "CBC proudly continues MASH traditions and partnerships, offering these meaningful, fun community blood drive experiences to help local hospital patients."
“Hodag STAT comes at a critical time,” said John Hagins, President & CEO, The Community Blood
Center. “Busy summer schedules and vacations lead to fewer blood donations, but the need for blood

never slows down. Hospital patients rely on volunteer donors to get through surgeries, cancer
treatments, life-threatening emergencies and more. Whether you’re donating for the first time or
returning, your gift makes a lifesaving impact.”
Hodag STAT is part of a larger mission to help save lives this summer. CBC is taking the tour to Merrill
August 7 and Wausau August 12. As a small token of CBC’s appreciation, all presenting donors will receive an exclusive STAT T-shirt and breakfast or lunch. All presenting first-time donors at Hodag, Merrill and Wausau STAT will receive a $25 virtual gift card.
View all STAT blood drives and save your spot by visiting communityblood.org/stat. Donations can also be scheduled  using the CBC Donor App or by calling (800) 280-4102.
