Obituary: Norma Jean Wrbelis
Norma Jean Wrbelis, age 83 of Lake Tomahawk, died Friday, October 23, 2015, at her home. She was born on January 19, 1932, in Milwaukeeto Bill and Julia Edwards. Norma married Robert Norton and following his passing, she married Chuck Wrbelis. She was mother to six children, Lewis, Lauren, Molly, Robert, Vicky, and Saundra. Norma was employed in the medical field for many years, serving as an assistant to Dr. Rosemeyer and Dr. Irving Schiek. She was also a home health care provider and cared for a number of local families including the Kennedys, Clearys, Daniels, and Birginals. While working at the Rhinelander Café and Pub, Norma met Charles Wrbelis and they were married in 1964, celebrating 51 years together. Norma loved animals, especially goats and dogs. She found a kindred spirit in Julie Bruzas through raising goats and Julie cared for Norma over the past five years as she battled with dementia. Norma enjoyed crocheting, cooking, trips to the casino, and fishing on Round Lake at her former home in Crescent. Together, Norma and Chuck were able to enjoy traveling to Arizona and Florida in their motor home until purchasing a home in Florida near the Gulf. Norma is survived by her husband Charles “Chuck” Wrbelis; children, Lewis (Charmain) Norton, Lauren Stanton, Robert Norton, and Vicky Jo Hunter; grandchildren; and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert Norton; and two daughters, Molly Norton and Saundra Jean Wrbelis. There will be no formal services. (Carlson Funeral Home)
