New city administrator
The Rhinelander city council officially confirmed at their meeting earlier this evening that Kristina Aschenbrenner of Eau Claire will fill the city administrator position.
Aschenbrenner is the district court administrator for the 10th Judicial District Wisconsin Supreme Court in Eau Claire. She is also a former member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
This decision came following a two-day interview session over the last weekend. On Friday the council hosted an informal gathering with community leaders and conducted formal interviews the following day.
Aschenbrenner was one of twenty-two applicants, and one of four candidates who participated in the weekend’s interview activities.
Rhinelander has been without a full-time city administrator since Blaine Oborn vacated the position in May. Phil Parkinson, city attorney and administrator before Oborn, has been filling in as interim on a part-time basis.
The new city administrator will not begin until September, the exact date still to be decided, nor has a salary been released.
