School District of Rhinelander announces Maggie Peterson as the new Director of Special Education/Pupil Services
The School District of Rhinelander has announced Maggie Peterson the new Director of Special Education/Pupil Services. Maggie replaces Dave Wall, who retired at the end of the 2013-14 school year. Maggie comes to the School District of Rhinelander from the Northland Pines School District, where she worked for 15 years as a special education teacher and Director of Pupil Services. She also worked as the St. Germain Elementary Principal and the Director of Instruction while at Northland Pines. Prior to this, she taught at Florence High School and at Lincoln Hills.
Maggie earned her Undergraduate in History and her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. She earned her administrative licenses through Marian University and her PhD in K-12 Educational Leadership from Capella University.
Maggie moved to Rhinelander at age 7 and is a graduate of Rhinelander High School. After her initial college years, she returned to the Northwoods to raise her family and to student-teach. She has two sons who attended Rhinelander schools.
