Wisconsin Public Service has begun preparations for the winter storm expected to hit the area late Monday afternoon. According to WPS Public Relations Manager, Lisa Prunty, in addition to poor driving conditions, the storm may bring power outages.
"This past Thursday we endured strong winds that brought trees down (due to wet ground) on lines and also broke a few poles," Prunty stated in a press release. "We are anticipating that we will see more trees down due to the ground not being frozen."
Prunty said WPS began communicating with line crews and employees who work on storms Sunday afternoon. WPS safety tips and outage map are linked below.
