The Rhinelander Hodag was voted the best mascot in the U.S., in an online poll conducted by scorebooklive.com, beating out 11 other mascots.
In the unscientific (but we think, highly accurate) poll, Hodag fans voted in huge numbers for the city's legendary Hodag, besting the second-place Shelley Idaho Russets by more than 100,000 votes, garnering a whopping 63.04%.
Our beloved Hodag makes every event in Rhinelander better. Congratulations to the Hodag, the city of Rhinelander and everyone who voted!

On display at the complex, this Hodag originally graced the Hodag Bar in Rhinelander. This original plywood artifact will be taken inside this fall to be preserved as the weather has been hard on it. Using this one as a pattern however, complex staff plan to create a new plywood Hodag to take it's place outdoors.
