Editor,
Driving through our beautiful Northwoods, I keep noticing the poor state of our roads. My well-maintained car has noticed, too. It needed a wheel-bearing replacement at a cost of $407.72. The mechanic told me the cause was road trauma.
The current governor has made Wisconsin’s roads a low priority in his budgets, refusing to consider any increase in revenue for roads. Instead of an unexpected hit for car repair, I would willingly pay a bit more in gas tax that funds better roads.
If the current governor thinks we have $4.5 billion to give the foreign corporation Foxconn, perhaps we do have money for fixing our roads.
