UPDATE: Oneida County releases explosion victim information

ONEIDA COUNTY – The Oneida County Sheriff's Office has released additional information surrounding an explosion in a garage in the town of Crescent Monday.

Jared Houg, 34, was killed, authorities said, while he was making fireworks in his garage Monday night. None of the ingredients at the residence were illegal and Houg's actions were legal, according to a press release.

The dispatch center received a 911 call reporting an explosion approximately 7:25 p.m. Upon arrival, the Sheriff's Office reported, it was determined that Houg died from injuries sustained during the explosion.
