ONEIDA COUNTY – With 100% of precincts reporting, the unofficial results from the April 2 presidential primary and non-partisan local elections saw Joe Biden and Donald Trump winning their party nominations in Wisconsin.
Both statewide referendum questions passed:
Question 1:
"Use of private funds in election administration. Shall section 7 (1) of article III of the constitution be created to provide that private donations and grants may not be applied for, accepted, expended, or used in connection with the conduct of any primary, election, or referendum?"
Question 2:
"Election officials. Shall section 7 (2) of article III of the constitution be created to provide that only election officials designated by law may perform tasks in the conduct of primaries, elections, and referendums?"
There were seven school district referendum questions on ballots in the Northwoods. Unofficial results show voters said yes to five of the seven, including voters in the School District of Rhinelander, which passed with 66% support.

SCHOOL DISTRICT REFERENDUM QUESTIONS
School District of Rhinelander - QUESTION: Shall the School District of Rhinelander, Oneida, Lincoln and Langlade Counties, Wisconsin be authorized to issue pursuant to Chapter 67 of the Wisconsin Statutes, general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $26,000,000 for the public purpose of paying the cost of a school building and facility improvement project consisting of: construction of additions and renovations at Rhinelander High School, including for technical education, classrooms and labs; construction of additions, renovations, safety, security and site improvements at James Williams Middle School, including for technical education and classrooms; district-wide capital maintenance, infrastructure improvements and accessibility updates; and acquisition of furnishings, fixtures and equipment? YES 66% NO 33%
School District of Prentice - QUESTION: Shall the School District of Prentice, Price, Oneida and Lincoln Counties, Wisconsin be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $1,800,000 beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, for recurring purposes consisting of operational and maintenance expenses, including for student programming, facility maintenance and staff salaries and benefits? YES 43% NO 57%
School District of Rib Lake - QUESTION: Shall the School District of Rib Lake, Taylor and Price Counties, Wisconsin be authorized to issue pursuant to Chapter 67 of the Wisconsin Statutes, general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $19,500,000 for the public purpose of paying the cost of a school facility improvement project consisting of: district-wide building maintenance, building infrastructure, systems and site improvements; construction of an addition to connect the Middle and High Schools, including a safe and secure entrance and replacement gymnasium; renovations at the Middle and High Schools, including for academics, band and choir spaces, a technical education area, kitchen and cafeteria, office and a fitness center; and acquisition of furnishings, fixtures and equipment? YES 56% NO 44%
Merrill Area Public Schools- QUESTION: Shall the Merrill Area Common Public School District, Lincoln and Langlade Counties, Wisconsin be authorized to issue pursuant to Chapter 67 of the Wisconsin Statutes, general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $16,000,000 for the public purpose of paying the cost of a school facility improvement project consisting of: renovations, site and playground improvements at the Jefferson School building to accommodate the relocation of certain district programming; renovations at the High School and construction of a maintenance and operations building at the High School site; demolition of the current Northern Achievement Center, storage building, district office and maintenance building; district-wide capital maintenance, infrastructure and site improvements; and acquisition of furnishings, fixtures and equipment? YES 46% NO 54%
North Lakeland School District - QUESTION 1: Shall the North Lakeland School District, Vilas and Iron Counties, Wisconsin be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $550,000 beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, for recurring purposes consisting of operational expenses, including to maintain current programming? YES 68% NO 31%
North Lakeland School District - QUESTION 2: The Wisconsin Statutes, general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $5,700,000 for the public purpose of paying the cost of a school facility improvement project at the school building and site consisting of: capital maintenance and building systems improvements, including HVAC and electrical system updates; safety, security and site improvements, including for a secure main entrance; remodeling and Americans with Disabilites Act updates; and acquisition of furnishings, fixtures and equipment? YES 72% NO 28%
Mercer School District - QUESTION: Shall the School District of Mercer, located in Iron County, Wisconsin, be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Wisconsin Statutes Section 121.91 by $800,000.00 per year, beginning with the 2024-2025 school year through the 2028-29 school year, for nonrecurring purposes consisting of maintaining operations, programs, and facilities? YES 61% NO 39%
Town of Minocqua voters rejected a referendum that asked voters to approve a tax levy increase.
Minocqua - QUESTION: Under state law, the increase in the levy of the Town of Minocqua for the tax to be imposed for the next fiscal year, 2025, is limited to 1.353%, which results in a levy of $4,397,593. Shall the Town of Minocqua be allowed to exceed this limit and increase the levy for the next fiscal year, 2025, for the purpose of retaining levels of service for police, fire, public works and library, as well as maintaining levels of service for infrastructure, equipment, and facilities by a total of 21.603%, which results in a levy of $5,347,593, and on a recurring basis, include the increase of $950,000 for each fiscal year going forward? YES 49.6% NO 50.3%
