Two arrested in connection to drug-related death in Forest County

A man and woman from Pearson have been arrested in connection to a death in Crandon Jan. 20. According to the Forest County Sheriff’s Office, the emergency center received a call at 12:58 a.m. Jan. 20, requesting a rescue squad for a male subject who was not breathing.

According to the press release, deputies responded to the call and began CPR on the subject who was not breathing and did not have a pulse. The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is being attributed to the ingestion of heroin.

Sheriff’s deputies performed a traffic stop in Crandon Jan. 25, and arrested Heather A. Grisius, 30, and Joseph Grisius, 55. The press release stated that evidence located during the stop included a loaded 9mm handgun, heroin, cocaine, several schedule II narcotic pills, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Charges against Heather Grisius of second degree reckless homicide, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon will be referred to the Forest County District Attorney. She is currently being held on a $75,000 cash bond.

Charges of possession of a concealed weapon, party to the crime of several offenses, including possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of schedule II narcotics with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia are being referred to the district attorney for Joseph Grisius. He is being held on a $15,000 cash bond.

A search warrant was executed at the Grisius home by Langlade and Forest County, where a variety of drugs, drug paraphernalia, a firearm and cash were located.

The Forest County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests may be forthcoming.
