Wisconsin public service is reporting more than 11,000 customers without power due to the storms that blew through late this morning. According to Lisa Prunty of WPS, most of the outages are due to high winds.
Crews are reporting broken poles, trees on wires, branches on wires and lots of down wire.
Areas affected include Rhinelander, Tomahawk, Eagle River, Three Lakes, Crandon, Argonne and Minocqua.
Prunty says it is important to stay away from down wires and also to use caution when cleaning up areas that have debris and wires.
The company will have crews working around the clock as long as it is safe for crews to work. Weather reports call for possibly additional storms tonight.
WPS is urging customers to call if they are experiencing an outage or have questions and asking that people let crews work to restore power safely and use caution at all times when driving by crews.
