Tess family announces Memory Bowl: 9-Pins for a Purpose

Posted

The Alzheimer’s Association, Wisconsin Chapter, in partnership with the Tess family — Donald, Joneil, Venette, Denise, and their loved ones — is organizing the inaugural Memory Bowl: 9-Pins for a Purpose, a special bowling fundraiser supporting the fight against Alzheimer’s. This fun-filled community event will be held on Saturday, October 25 at Nick’s Hodag Lanes, 1843 N Stevens Street, organizers said in a press release.
According to the release, the event honors the memory of Sharon Tess, who lost her battle with Alzheimer’s on August 2, 2021. Her courage and spirit continue to inspire her family and friends as they work tirelessly to support the Alzheimer’s Association and all those affected by this devastating disease.
Registration starts at 11 a.m. and bowling will begin at noon. The registration fee is $25 per person. There will bucket and cash raffles throughout the day
“Over 110,900 Wisconsinites live with Alzheimer’s disease, and more than 7 million people across the U.S. are impacted,” said the Tess family. “We know firsthand the struggles families face, and we are committed to doing our part to support the Alzheimer’s Association’s urgent mission and honoring our mom’s memory.”
The Tess family’s team, Sharon Tess’s Brew Crew, has raised well over $5,000 since they began participating in the Rhinelander Walk to End Alzheimer’s in September of 2021 and continues to lead the charge in both fundraising and awareness.

Community Support Needed
Sponsorships and in-kind donations are needed to make this event a success, the release states. Businesses can sponsor a lane, with their name and logo prominently displayed on banners beneath the team scoreboard, offering a unique promotional opportunity while making a meaningful impact in the fight against Alzheimer’s.
For more information, sponsorship opportunities, or to donate, contact Don Tess at 715-891-2059.
“Let’s laugh, bowl, and remember—together we can strike out Alzheimer’s, one frame at a time. And in the spirit of Bob Uecker: “It’s gonna be a strike-out kind of day—and for once, that’s a good thing!”
