Star Journal parent company acquires Stevens Point City-Times

Multi Media Channels LLC, the company that operates the Star Journal and Hodag Buyers Guide, has acquired the 2,500 circulation, Stevens Point City-Times and its associated website, spcitytimes.com.

The Stevens Point addition to the company is the third in recent months. Earlier this year, the company purchased the Merrill Courier and the Antigo Area Shopper.

“Stevens Point City-Times has been a valued online and print news source for the Stevens Point community since it was founded in 2010”,  said Patrick Wood, CEO of Multi-Media Channels. “This acquisition represents our long term commitment to Wisconsin-based publications and digital assets, and we want to continue to build our local brands and our presence in the communities we serve...”

Multi Media Channels is a subsidiary of Brown County Publishing, a family owned and operated media corporation that traces its publishing roots back three generations. Based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the company publishes numerous weekly shoppers, weekly newspapers and specialty publications in and around Northeast and Northcentral Wisconsin, along with associated websites and digital assets. The weekly shoppers include the Waupaca Buyers’ Guide, Wausau Buyers’ Guide, Stevens Point Buyers’ Guide, Wisconsin Rapids Buyers  Guide, Marshfield Buyers’ Guide, Rhinelander Hodag Buyers’ Guide, New London Buyers’ Guide, Clintonville Shoppers’ Guide; the weekly newspapers include the Merrill Foto News, Rhinelander Star Journal, Waupaca County Post, New London Press Star, Clintonville Tribune -Gazette; and the specialty magazines include Silent Sports, Wisconsin Journeys, Packerland Pride, Auto Plus and Auto Gazette.
