The Oneida County sheriff’s office has announced that convicted sex offender Kyle L. Wickersham has been released from prison and is now residing in the county.
According to a press release issued Tuesday, Wickersham, 38, is to reside at 4143 County Highway W beginning today.
“The Oneida County sheriff’s office has no legal authority to direct where a sex offender resides,” the release states. “The Oneida County sheriff’s office’s role is to provide information to the public in an attempt to ensure safe neighborhoods when a sex offender is released or transferred into the community.”
Wickersham will be monitored by the Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Office in Rhinelander in correlation with the sheriff’s office sex offender-monitoring program.
He is a lifetime sex offender registrant as well as mandated to be on GPS monitoring for life.
According to the sheriff’s office, Wickersham was convicted in Marathon County case 19CF1037 of three counts of possession of child pornography.
“In this case, a tip indicated that a user uploaded images of prepubescent females in sexually explicit positions,” the release states. Officers made contact with Wickersham and confiscated his cellphone where various images of child pornography were located.
Wickersham must abide by various conditions while on supervision including no unsupervised contact with minors. He must also cooperate with electronic monitoring and comply with all requirements set in place for lifetime registrants of the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry.
