MINOCQUA – Saturday night the Lakeland T-Birds hosted the regional final against the Rhinelander Hodags. The last time the two teams played the game went into overtime with the T-Birds winning by three points.
The start of this game did not go the Hodags way as Lakeland had a 17-point lead before the Hodags would score 11 minutes into the game. From the 11 minute mark in to the half, the Hodags outscored the T-Birds 20-10 giving lakeland a 27-20 lead at the break.
The Hodags came out in the second half and Ava Lamers got the Hodags within four points on a 3-point shot but then went cold as Lakeland built up a 16-point lead that the Hodags could not overcome for a final score of 35-50 to end the season with a 16-10 record. Audrey Schiek led the Hodags with 10 points followed by Ava Lamers with nine.
