School board leadership remains the same following organizational meeting

The School District of Rhinelander Board of Education held a 6-minute reorganizational meeting Monday, May 11 at which time all of the incumbent officers were unanimously re-elected to their positions. The meeting began with Mike Roberts, Merlin Van Buren, Duane Frey and Mary Peterson taking the oath of office. All four board members were re-elected in April.
The next order of business was to elect officers. In a matter of moments, motions were made for all existing office holders to continue in their positions. Ron Counter was re-elected as board president, Judy Conlin as vice president, Peterson as secretary and Roberts as treasurer.
Counter then announced that, according to feedback he’s received, board members are satisfied with the current makeup of the board’s subcommittees and thus they will remain the same.
The assignments are as follows:
Operations and Strategic Planning Committee: Mike Roberts (chair), Ron Lueneburg, Merlin Van Buren

Instruction and Accountability Committee: Judy Conlin (chair), Mary Peterson, Patricia Townsend
Employee Relations Committee: Duane Frey (chair), Judy Conlin, Kurt Helke.
Capital Projects Ad Hoc Committee: Mike Roberts (chair), Merlin Van Buren, Duane Frey.
Disciplinary Appeals Committee: Mary Peterson (chair), Ron Lueneburg, Merlin Van Buren, Kurt Helke.
