Stafford Field at Hodag Park was the home of the Legion invite over the weekend with two games on Friday night, five games on Saturday and three more on Sunday.
Teams from DC Everest, Merrill, Clintonville and Fond du Lac St. Mary's Springs participated as well as the host Rebels. The tournament was a round robin format with the best record winning the whole thing.
The Rebels won with a 3-1 record with the only loss coming at the hands of DC Everest on Saturday morning. Everest then lost two games on Sunday, meaning all the Rebels had to do was defeat Merrill in the last game of the tournament. The Rebels had already been winners against Fond du Lac Friday and Clintonville on Saturday. Rhinelander came back from behind in the game against Merrill for a 6-5 win and clinched the championship trophy.
