Rhinelander powerlifters compete

The Rhinelander Powerlifting team last weekend traveled to Marinette to compete in the Wisconsin High School Powerlifting Association regional meet. Twenty-eight student lifters competed.

The girls team took first place with 74 points, besting the second place team by 50 points.

The boys placed second with 95 points, 10 points out of first place. Several athletes finished in the top three of their weight classes. Students Adam Myers, Nicole Long and Lexi Bishop all qualified for the state meet in March.

The team is coached by Drake Biolo.
