The Rhinelander District Library is seeking stories. Not stories to fill library shelves, but recorded stories about the Northwoods that will become a collected oral history of the area.
“We hope people will spread the word to others who might like to contribute, and keep the project in the back of their minds in case a fond Northwoods memory surfaces,” said Matt Persike, RDL library services assistant.
The project, "If These Woods Could Talk," is a new and ongoing project for the Rhinelander library.
“We want Northwoods stories straight from the people who lived them,” Persike added.
Those interested in telling their story can check out a recording kit at the circulation desk at the library. The collection will be available for public listening in the future with a link on the Rhinelander District Library website.
