The Hodag girls basketball team faced a challenge Thursday and Friday. If they could win both games they would win the Great Northern Conference championship with a record of 12-0; not an easy task. The girls had already won conference thanks to a Lakeland loss putting them up three games with only two left to play. Tomahawk, on paper, did not appear to be a challenge and the girls were up 51-8 at half time and no starter saw the floor in the second half. Final score was 75-20.

Friday presented a different challenge as the Red Robins from Antigo had some wins in conference and were the only team standing in the way of a perfect conference season. The Hodags had already clinched the first title in school history but wanted that perfect record. The girls easily won that battle, 74-41.

The girls began the Antigo game by honoring the three seniors, Erica Jorgenson, Brooke Mork and Payton VanZile and ended it by cutting down the nets and earning the undefeated conference season. Photos by Bob Mainhardt.
