The Wisconsin School Bus Association (WSBA) has recognized local school bus driver Patricia Townsend, for her outstanding professionalism and service. Townsend is employed Bowen’s Bus Service, which serves the School District of Rhinelander. She is also a member of the School District of Rhinelander’s board of education, having been elected in April 2024. Townsend received the “Excellence in Driving” award on June 18 at the WSBA’s annual Convention and Trade Show in Wisconsin Dells.\
According to a press release announcing the honor, Townsend was celebrated for her three years of exemplary service, safely transporting Wisconsin’s children with remarkable care and dedication. Kim Weyers of Bowen’s Bus Service praised Townsend, describing her as someone “with a heart and will ready to help any and every way she [can].”
The WSBA highlights the crucial role that school bus drivers and mechanics play in student success, emphasizing their unwavering commitment to safety and service which is invaluable to schools, families, and communities across Wisconsin.
