Rennes confirms COVID-19 case at Rhinelander facility

Rennes Health and Rehab Center has confirmed a male resident at its Rhinelander facility has tested positive for COVID-19.

The test was administered at the hospital March 27 and test results came back March 29. According to a press release, the individual is currently in off-site isolation.

The resident reportedly exhibited a rapid onset of respiratory symptoms and was transferred to the hospital for evaluation. The facility has been in contact with the resident's family and the Oneida County Health Department, and notified the families of other residents Sunday.

Rennes remains on lockdown with a restricted visitor policy. All staff, residents and essential visitors complete daily screening; new admissions are currently suspended in Rhinelander. All units are under quarantine with limited staff access. Staff are wearing personal protective equipment including gowns, masks, gloves and eye protection.
