For the Star Journal
Last Tuesday the Hodag hockey team played their first game of the season, hosting the Ashland Oredockers. Before the game activities director Brian Paulson gave the crowd a short speech about last year’s conference championship and pointed out the championship banner that was now hanging from the ceiling.
The Oredockers game was won by the Hodags, who never trailed in the contest. The final score was 9-3.
The team was in Amery over the weekend and lost two games. They were defeated by Amery 6-0 and lost in overtime to River Falls 7-6. Next is a home game against Northland Pines Dec. 2.
