RHINELANDER – The fourth annual Hodag Heritage Fest took place Saturday, May 18 at Pioneer Park. The event is hosted by the Rhinelander Chamber of Commerce and included events throughout the day, such as live music, free kids activities, food and beverages for purchase and a Hodag Historical City Bus Tour.
The festivities were well attended; annual favorites include the Hodag Calling contest, the story of Gene Shepard and the Hodag Heritage presentation of "A Captured Hodag." Saturday was also opening day for the Logging Museum and Pioneer Park Historical Complex.
The weekend began Friday evening with the unveiling and rededication of the improved Hodag historical marker at Hodag Park.
