Six Appeal is an a cappella vocal band that sings genres from jazz, to top hits of today, to classics. All six people in their band have an important part. Jordan, who sings high-tenor, is from Bismarck, North Dakota. Michael as mid-tenor is from Marion, Kansas. Next, is Trey who raised in Orlando, Florida and sings low-tenor. Nathan from Rochester, Minnesota sings Six Appeal’s baritone. Then, there’s Rueben from Bismarck, North Dakota and he sings as the bass. Last, but not least, is Berko from Bloomington, Minnesota and is the beatboxer of Six Appeal. All of them come together to make music. Six Appeal teaches schools (and taught us) about the history of a cappella. Something we learned is that, in addition to meaning music without instruments, the original meaning of a cappella is “In the style of the chapel.” They also performed many songs including “Happy”, “Circle of Life” and more. Their performance was awesome! They interacted with everyone while teaching us about music history. They taught students about Gregorian Chant, Barbershop, Vocal Jazz and more.
Emma of NCSS says, “I loved the concert. The people were very energetic, funny, and talented. My favorite part was the beginning when they sang “Circle of Life.” My favorite singers were Jordan and Trey.”
Emmalee, also from NCSS, says, “The concert was really cool and interesting because they made really good instrument sounds with their mouths. My favorite part was when Berko taught us how to beat box.”
We are very thankful to Nicolet College for always offering us the awesome opportunity to attend these excellent, educational programs.
