Oneida County UTV accident results in one death

A Weston woman faces charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle in Oneida County Court following a UTV accident that claimed the life of her passenger Saturday night in the town of Nokomis.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, a UTV driven by Brenda Reiche, 47, left the road and struck a tree, killing Adam Rietz, 49, of Athens; Reiche was also seriously injured.

The driver will reportedly be receiving Department of Natural Resources citations for UTV intoxicated operation refusal, operating a UTV without each person wearing a safety belt, operating a UTV while under the influence of an intoxicant and operating a UTV in a careless manner.
