Oneida County squad car damaged by block thrown on roof

$1,300 reward offered for info leading to arrest

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office has announced a reward of $1,300 is now being offered for information leading the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for damaging a sheriff’s office squad car parked in downtown Rhinelander early Sunday morning.

This Oneida County squad car was damaged when a cinder block landed on its roof while parked in downtown Rhinelander early Sunday morning.

At approximately 1:16 a.m. Sunday, the county's dispatch center received a 911 call from an individual reporting that an unoccupied sheriff's office squad car parked in front of 28 N. Brown St. had been damaged by a cinder block that appeared to have been thrown from the top of the building with the vehicle sustaining an estimated $6,800 in damage.

The Rhinelander Police Department is conducting an investigation into events surrounding the incident. Private citizens have donated a portion of the $1,300 reward.
