Oneida County Solid Waste limits trash disposal

Temporary measures put in place during Safer at Home

Non-essential trash disposal is putting solid waste workers' health at risk, said Oneida County Solid Waste Director Lisa Jolin.

In a press release Friday, Jolin stated that in response to Gov. Evers' Safer-at-Home order, the facility is only accepting necessary waste, which is household garbage only.

Items temporarily not accepted include hazardous waste, electronics, yard waste, tires, and furniture.

In addition, Jolin stated the facility will be closed all four Saturdays in April in effort to limit employee and community exposure to COVID-19. The public recycling center will remain accessible during business hours.
