Obituary: Wayne R. Swenson

Wayne R. Swenson, age 77 of Rhinelander, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at home with his family by his side. Wayne was born Jan. 31, 1941 in Brantwood to Arnold and Grace (Lind) Swenson.

He is survived by his children, Ron (Kelly) Swenson, Raymond and Robert Swenson, Evie Kanitz, and daughter-in-law, Nancy Swenson, all of Rhinelander; son-in-law, Daryl Court of Merrill; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sherry Swenson of Rhinelander, Joyce (Jim) Bant of Hazelhurst, Bonnie Felix of Cudahy, Darleen Ehmke of The Villages, Florida; brother-in-law, Rick Bauknecht of Rhinelander; his in-laws, Ginger (Wayne) Fairfield, and Delmer (Charlotte) Lunde of Rhinelander; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other family and friends.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Julia; son, Roger Swenson; daughter, Debbie Court; and granddaughter, Tabitha Swenson.

A combined celebration of Wayne’s and his daughter, Debbie’s lives will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Pine Lake Town Hall. All are welcome to share a memory. (Hildebrand Funeral Home)
