Obituary: Elizabeth Dietz

Elizabeth A. Dietz, 82, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at Friendly Village nursing home under the care of hospice. She was born Nov. 15, 1930 to Joseph and Elizabeth (Galba) Korom in Milwaukee. After attending Solomn Juneau High School, she worked at Gillis' Frozen Custard in Wauwatosa, Boston Store in downtown Milwaukee, she eventually went on to own and operate Oneida Lake Resort in Harshaw. Betty married the late Arthur J. Dietz on June 3, 1950 and had two children. Elizabeth was a den mother and planned activities for the Boys Technical and Trade School. She was a member of St. Joseph (Rhinelander). She enjoyed going to the Casino, and was known as "Bingo Betty" at the VFW, doing ceramics, watching "Days of Our Lives," "Wheel of Fortune," and many other game shows. Elizabeth is survived by her children; Dawn (Garry) Treder, Donald A. (Carol) Dietz; five grandchildren, David, Sarah, Andy, Ashley and Arik; and five great grandchildren, Haven, LaDawn, Ethan, Garrison, Kylie and Courtney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her parents; brothers, Joseph and Jim; and a sister, Katherine Camus. A memorial service will be held at Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home, Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013 with visitation at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. with Chaplain John Uhlarik.
